UAP Insurance is looking to boost its revenue after the completion of the Nakawa Business Park. In a statement this week, UAP said the business centre had already boosted its properties performance by 60 per cent - from Shs 281m to Shs 450m. Chairman Chris Kirubi officially received the park from main contractor CATIC International recently, but it is yet to be officially launched.
"It is expected to further improve revenue as occupancy continues to grow," the statement said. The park is reported to have cost $30m (approximately Shs 78bn) to build. "Uganda being an oil-rich nation, this building deserves to be the official address for some of the big companies coming to Uganda," a UAP statement quotes Kirubi.
The four-block business park is located near Makerere University Business School, 3.5km from the business centre. It has eight floors designed to host corporate offices, with 600-vehicle parking space.
"UAP believes in Uganda and we know Uganda has potential. This is the first project and we know more are coming," Kirubi stated.
