Tata Motors today expanded its product portfolio in South Africa with the launch of a new range of Tata Xenon.
The company has launched Tata Xenon XT in four variants in the South African market, Tata Motors said in a statement.
"South Africa is a key strategic market for Tata Motors and our focused efforts for this market is validated by our increasing presence and market share here," Tata Motors Head - International Business, Commercial Vehicles, R T Wasan said.
The launch of the Tata Xenon XT will further fortify the company's position in the South African automotive industry and motivate the firm to develop more such vehicles for its South African customers, he added.
Xenon, powered by 2.2 litre engine, is ideal for segments like family and leisure, farming, mining, construction and small businesses, the company said.
"With the addition of the Xenon XT range, Tata Motors now boasts of an impressive bakkie portfolio catering to every discerning need of the South African automotive market and suiting every consumer segment," it added.
The company's existing portfolio comprises Super Ace, 207 DI turbo and the existing Xenon range with 11 variants.
