Around fifity five companies in the industrial sector have signed up for Tamkeen’s “Tarweej” scheme, one of the main schemes under its flagship Enterprise Development Support Programme - to showcase their industrial products and services by participating at Gulf Industry Fair 2013, the region’s annual B2B exhibition for the fast-growing industrial sector serving Bahrain, the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia and the northern Gulf, set to take place in Bahrain International Exhibition & Convention Centre between the 15th and the 17th of January 2013.
Tamkeen’s “Tarweej” Scheme is a co-financing Scheme designed to support Business Enterprises achieve sustainability by expanding the outreach of their products and services through local and regional exhibitions.
Mohammed Bucheery, Senior Manager - Private Sector Support at Tamkeen , commented on the announcement: “Having a robust industrial sector is central to achieving the goals outlined in Bahrain Economic Vision 2030, so we are pleased to provide the need support to Bahraini Businesses that will showcase the strength of Bahrain’s industrial sector through this event.”
“We also believe that having these companies be part of the Bahrain Pavilion at this prestigious event will cement Bahrain’s reputation as one of the leading industrial nations within the region” he added.
Since the third phase of the Enterprise Development Support programme commenced in Feb 2012, around 580 business enterprises have benefited from the Tarweej scheme with a total support amount of over 2 Million BD.
Entrepreneurs that fit the criteria and wish to benefit from “Tarweej” Scheme in upcoming national and International trade exhibitions may submit their applications to the Enterprise Development Support Agency with the required documents within 10 days of a local exhibition and 30 days for an external exhibition.
Alongside “Tarweej”, Enterprise Development Support Programme also includes: the Business Development Scheme (Istishara) to assist in the strategic planning and determining vision and goals of the organization, the Technical Assistance Scheme (Tachania) to provide support for the purchase of latest enterprise-related tools and equipment, the Quality Management Systems Scheme (Jawda) to assist in the design and application of world-class quality standards, the Marketing Assistance Scheme (Tasweeq) to provide support in the design and implementation of effective marketing and communications strategies, and the Large Enterprises support Scheme which allows Large Enterprises to acquire industrial machinery and technology.
