To better meet agricultural needs in South Africa and the sub-Saharan region, Orthman said it has opened a product assembly plant and warehouse in Kempton Park, South Africa. It's the company's first overseas operation.
Based in Lexington, Orthman is a provider of agricultural equipment and implements around the world. The company also produces conveyor and materials bulk-handling systems and SoilMover industrial earthmoving equipment and oversees the delivery of its wide variety of products through its own logistics division.
The Kempton Park plant provides products and support services to the Orthman and John Deere dealer network in that region, including the Orthman 1tRIPr strip-tillage machine, the new 1tRIPr XDR Combo Planter featuring John Deere MaxEmerge planter row units.
