Local and international oil and gas experts will in April gather in Nairobi in one of the largest exhibition event in Africa.
The Oil and Gas Africa 2014 event will bring together scientists, engineers, environmentalists, technocrats and entrepreneurs in the oil sector.
The event comes in the wake of discovery of oil in Kenya and Uganda as exploration in other African countries continue.
“Over the past 10 years, oil production has doubled in Africa and new routes have been created for the transportation of hydrocarbons to world markets. The development of oil and gas industry will continue to have a positive effect on the pace of development of non-oil sector of Africa’s economy,” the event manager Neville Trindade said in a statement.
He said the April 27-29 event will promote cooperation between Africa and international oil and gas professionals.
East African companies, he said, will have an opportunity to enhance their export and import trade and take advantage of available market.
The event will be held at Kenyatta International Conference Centre.
