A TANZANIA-Japan Business Forum scheduled to take place in Dar es Salaam today at Serena Hotel aims at promoting business and exploration possibilities between Japanese companies and Tanzania.
Minister for Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan, Mr Toshimitsu Motegi who was expected in the country yesterday, will deliver a speech in a bid to promote business between the two countries.
A statement issued by the Forum organisers states that more than 200 business persons from Tanzania and 13 private and five state companies from Japan are expected to attend.

Following the fifth summit meeting of Tokyo International Conference on African Development held between June 1st and 3rd this year in Yokohama, Japan with Heads of State of forty African nations; the government of Japan started taking further action to enhance economic relations with African countries.
Tanzania has been chosen as the first country for the business forum to take place. The Executive Director of Japan External Trade Organisation (JETRO) based in Johannesburg, Mr Kimihiko Inaba said that the forum will create business opportunities for both countries and improve networks.

He said Tanzania has become an attractive investment destination for Japanese companies, given the stable political and conducive business environment and the discovery of natural gas. He added that new developments in the power, transportation and agricultural sector have contributed to more business investment in the country.
