The Australia China Business Council will explain how businesses can understand China's emerging markets in agribusiness and food.
Hugh Koch from the Southern Grampians Shire Council says there are good opportunities in the region.
"The agricultural skills which we have here within our region, looking at whether we could export some of those or whether that was into soil health, other research areas, so we think the skills which we have in our area could be very compatible with the Chinese market," he said.
"What we feel is a lot of potential, particularly in agriculture, particularly looking in value adding.
"It could particularly be in water management and this is to build on that educational relationship which we've had in the past."
