It's suitable for the oil companies and also for the food industries, for the car washing stations and so on."

A photovoltaic -wind hybrid unit for electric power generation 2.1 KV was one of the attractive devices on display outside the Oman International Exhibition Centre. Mr. Antonio Mª Barragán Miguel, Manager Director of ACOIN elaborates on this device, "This is a device that was designed by His Excellency Hilal Bin Marhoon Bin Salim Al Maamary, the Oman Ambassador of Spain, who also patented it in Spain, and was manufactured by the Spanish enterprise ACOIN. What you have here is a power generator with solar plates and windmill power. This one is just a prototype and can be made to order according to specifications and customer needs. This prototype weighs 750 kilos and is able to generate up to 1.2 KV of power. The plate generates 0.8 KV and the windmill 0.4 KV. Obviously the power generation depends on the orientation of the plates, and the light intensity varies their efficiency, as the wind strength varies the windmill power generation. This unit has been designed specifically for generating power in rural areas, the places where power from big generators are expensive to carry, or for telecommunication repeaters and areas with difficult accessibility. With context to Oman this device can be used by tents put up in the dessert and also by residents in the nomad villages, the telecommunication towers on the mountains, gas and oil pipes that need the checkpoints for control. Now a prototype is being developed that can generate up to 10 KV enough for a regular house."

The Gulf Eco Expo 2013 thus concluded on a positive note as per the vision of the Ministry of Environment and Climate Affairs who has constantly encouraged environmental awareness and the use of environment-friendly services and solutions by the public and private sector.
