Flydubai has announced the addition of five flights a week between Bahrain and Dubai, increasing the number of weekly flights to 33.
Bahrain was the 10th route to join the flydubai network in 2009, just over six months of the start of its operations, making it the second of its GCC destinations.
The airline started with a double daily service to Bahrain and has now grown to 33 weekly flights as demand for reliable and flexible air travel continues to increase between the two countries.
To mark the occasion and to thank the top partners and travel agents in the market for their continued support, the airline hosted an event attended by officials from the Civil Aviation Authority of Bahrain, the UAE Embassy and flydubai.
Speaking about the occasion, Hamad Obaidalla, chief commercial officer of flydubai, said: "Launched in our first year of operations, Bahrain is one of the first destinations to join the flydubai network and continues to play a key role in intra- GCC trade. We are pleased to help people from our brotherly nations travel at ease between them, whether for business, leisure or simply to spend time with family and friends. "
"It is with the support of our partners that we were able to grow air traffic between Bahrain and the UAE, making affordable and flexible travel options available to more people." Obaidalla added.
Sudhir Sreedharan, senior vice president, commercial (GCC, Subcontinent, Africa) at flydubai said: "Our increased frequency offers passengers between Bahrain and the UAE more flexibility with the option of five daily flights. It is now more convenient for business travellers to travel for the day. Our Business Class services offers a work-friendly environment on board as well as fast-track and priority services on the ground."
